Day4 Today we will check out from Baan Namping after 3 nights stay here. Today breakfast came with 2 choices, one American breakfast and one soup rice. We get one each. Soup porridge was good but compare with American breakfast, we still preferred American breakfast as the bacon tasted really good. We spent our morning relaxing in hotel and proceed to Chiang Mai city with taxi (Song Thaew) arranged by hotel's owner. 第四天 住了三晚Baan Namping,今天是时候退房了。今天的早餐有美式及饭汤两种,我们各点了一个。虽说饭汤不错吃,但比较起来,还是喜欢美式早餐, 因为培根实在是太好吃了。吃完早餐,我们回房待了大半天,才乘坐酒店安排好的双条出城去。 Soup rice Taxi driver dropped us in front of our hotel in city, Baan Hanibah. This hotel located in walking distance to Sunday market, a super big and famous night market in Chiang Mai city on every Sunday. After checked in to Baan Hanibah, we booked a package to elephant show on next day, then we went to Sunday market. 双条直接把我们停在将要入住的酒店外,Baan Hanibah是我们在古城内住的酒店。这酒店和周日市场的距离不远,步行就可,挺方便的。我们登记好一切,放好行李后,让柜台服务员替我们定购隔天的骑大象配套,就往周日市场方向去。 Song theaw Chiang Mai wall Day tour package Kaosoi restaurant, Wat Phra Sing, Wat Phan Tao, Wat Chedi Luang and Sunday market (red lines) location map While we were hunting for our lunch, we found one local shop selling local food. We got ourselves a bowl of Chiang Mai famous Kao Soi and tomyam seafood, together with a coconut drink. 我们走着找午餐吃,由于才三点左右,周日市场还没开,我们就步入一家卖当地食物的餐厅。看了看菜谱,点了当地著名的Kao Soi以及一碗东炎,再来一粒椰水。 Kao soi is a fried noodle in curry and coconut soup, with thick coconut taste and slightly sweet. Compare with Penang curry noodle, the coconut flavour is much stronger. Add some chilies paste if you like spicy. Kao Soi是碗类式咖喱椰浆的汤面,面条是油炸过的,香浓带点甜味的椰浆汤淋在炸面上,非常好吃。比起我们的咖喱面,那浓椰浆来的更香滑可口,要是喜欢辣,可加入辣椒。 Kao soi Tomyam is added with coconut too, delicious. It is different compare with our local tomyam, which is more towards sour and spicy. 至于东炎呢,也是加入椰浆的,非常好吃,比起我们的酸辣东炎,真的不同。 Tomyam 由于两碗都是椰浆汤的,吃多了开始有点腻,再加上我们的椰水,全都是椰。要是缺乏胆固醇的你,这样的一餐肯定对你有帮助。这就是我们丰富的椰浆午餐啦。   Wat Pra Singh is one of the most famous temples in Chiang Mai. We walked around temper without enter to temper hall as need to pay for entrance fee. There are some stalls selling cloth, CD, foods at side of the temple too. I bought myself a pant from one of the stall here. 吃饱后,我们前往Wat Pra Singh,当地著名寺庙。由于入庙是需交付入门票的,所以我们只在外面看看而已。寺庙旁边也有一些小摊口,我在这儿买了一件短裤。 Wat Pra Singh We started our shopping at Sunday market after visited to Wat Pra Singh. It was really big market as mentioned by people who had been there before. Many of the things are repeated at few different stalls. 从Wat Pra Singh出来后,夜市摊口已陆陆续续开档了,我们就开始逛了起来。逛着逛着,实在是很兴奋,夜市实在是太大了,有种走不完的感觉。只是Camus的脚肿痛,走起路来很辛苦,所以走了一半路程,我们回酒店休息,又继续逛另外一半的夜市。虽说摊口很多,但很多也卖一样的东西,要是你在这挡买不成,可以在其他摊口找到。 Sunday market The same cuttle fish uncle from Saturday market Yakisoba Local dessert Fried worm / cacing Cute pao Delicious bihun with pork skin Sunday market We get some pants from here too, but mainly we bought foods from here. Wat Pan Tao and Wat Chedi Luang are located along Sunday market too, we visited these temples on Sunday night. 我们多半买吃的,食物便宜又好吃,吃得不亦乐乎。其中Wat Pan Tao和 Wat Chedi Luang是坐落在夜市的街旁,所以我们也在这时走去看看。 Wat Chedi Luang Wat Pan Tao  

 

6 Days 5 Nights Relax at Chiang Mai (Day 6) | 废人废生活的清迈6天5夜行 (第六天)

Day6 Today is our last day in Chiang Mai, I hope it was our first day here. Our last destination was to Warorot Market. You can find all kind of stuff from this market, fresh flower, clothes, shoes, fabric, kitchen utensil, tower, food and many more. It is a local market where their local people will come here to buy their things. 第六天 今天是清迈的最后一天了,实在是不舍得回啊!但计划中要去的地方都去了,只剩下Warorot Market。从网上得知这里是本地人逛的市场,东西比较便宜又应有尽有。我们乘搭双条抵达该处,也是20Baht一个人。在这儿,从鲜花,衣服,鞋子,布,厨房用具,毛巾,吃的用的都有。 Warorot market location map Warorot market We had our last shopping here before return back to hotel for final packing. 我们在这里买了几匹布,衣服,皮带,草席帽,猪皮等,就完成了清迈的血拚。回到酒店收拾好行李后,到附近吃午餐。 We had the chance to taste their famous mango glutinous rice before we came back. It was really delicious. They also have durian glutinous rice which is very special and hard to get it from other place. 第一天来到这卖芒果糯米饭的摊口,看见他们已经收挡,还好最后一天还来得及吃上一碟芒果糯米饭及榴莲糯米饭,总算安心了。 Mango glutinous rice, beef noodle and coconut drink location map Mango glutinous rice Durian glutinous rice Mango glutinous rice in front of this hotel We went to get a cup of coconut drink just opposite mango glutinous rice stall. The coconut drink is only 10Baht per big cup, delicious. 吃后觉得还是不太饱,就走到对面卖水摊口,买了一杯椰水,这椰水啊,真的很香很甜,才10Baht一大杯。Camus喝的最开心。 Coconut drink Then we go to another shop sells beef noodle which located the same row as mango glutinous rice. 我们也去到芒果糯米饭同排的面店,也不知他们卖什么,随便叫了一碗米粉汤面,原来是牛腩米粉汤,真的非常好吃。 Beef noodle After meal, we took Song Theaw to airport at 50Baht per person and end our journey at Chiang Mai. 之后,我们乘搭双条(50Baht一个人)抵达清迈机场,乘搭飞机飞回我国。就这样,结束了我们的清迈之旅。   旅途感想: 这次的旅行,可是我们那么多次的旅途中,其中一次很令我们大开眼界,喜出望外,惊喜连连的旅途。很多事件实在是让我们刮目相看,所以给我们留下了很多难忘及美好的回忆。 虽然这次的旅程花费超出预计,但受益良多,实在是让我们增广见闻。我觉得嘛,人生就得享受,懂得赚的同时,必须懂得花,只要不过于奢侈就行嘛。当地的食物,风俗,人情,景点,都让我们难以忘怀,真的还想再去多几次。清迈,是我们非常推荐的一个旅游城市,您也不妨亲自到哪儿体会体会当地的人情世故吧!

 

Kuro Goma Ice Cream | Japan Yokohama

During our visit to Japan Yokohama China Town, we noticed a black colour ice cream. It is now winter season in Japan, but the cold weather does not stop us from trying this unfamiliar colour ice cream. It is a black sesame flavour ice cream which cost 260 yen. Kuro means black and Goma means sesame in Japanese.              

 

Baked Blueberry Cheesecake

Cheesecakes are usually made with soft cheese (for instant cream cheese at room temperature), sugar, eggs, flour, and liquids. Normally, the base is crust, which may be pastry, digestive biscuit or any similar biscuit. Thin layer of sponge cake may suitable to be the cake base as well.

Being a Malaysian, I am a bit(yes, a bit only) shy Embarassed to say that I have never been to Sarawak. I give myself an excuse that it is too far away from my lovely hometown, Penang island. The air ticket is quite expensive to travel from here to there. But, I think that I am lucky enough to know a friend from Sarawak, which willing to share with us the recipe of their local famous food, Kampua mee ("Gam Mua" noodle (干盘面)). Kampua mee is from Sibu and it is Fuzhou (福州) food.


My first impression about Kampua was it almost same as dry Wan Tan Mee (干云吞面), as the sauce is black in colour and it is dry mee. Well, look at the recipe and cooking method, let's compare the differences.

USSR_11We just had a short trip to Langkawi recently. It is an unforgetable trip with some good and bad experience. Thank God that it was a raining day on the first day when we just arrived. The weather was great and cooling, we really enjoyed it. We stay at Berjaya hotel, it is a very relaxing resort that can temperary keep us away from our busy life in town. On the first night, with "suggestion" from "GPS", we got to know this Russian restaurant at Harbour Park nearby our hotel, it is USSR restaurant.

I am a dessert LOVER, it brings me happiness. That's the reason why I love baking.
Due to this reason, we visited one dessert house "Sweet Hut" at Kuchai Lama. We ordered a set of dessert cost RM22. The set came with Coconut Pudding with Mango Ice, Japanese Chestnut Chocolate Cake with Cookies Ice Cream and Aloe Jelly & Coconut Milk Ice Blended.
