Something About Myself with Chiffon Cake Some time ago, I have been working on chiffon cake. I failed almost all times when come to chiffon cake, like this one. Even though I had attended a part time baking course on baking chiffon cake, but when bake on my own, I still failed to handle it. I am not sure of what causes them failed, at the end I gave up on chiffon cake and any cakes that need folding egg white into egg yolk mixture, because I handled this so BADLY.

 

Indonesia Layer Cake with Hawflakes Recipe

After prune Indonesia layer cake, I am confident to bake layer cake again. This time, I baked Indonesia layer cake with hawflakes. Recipe follow the same as prune layer cake, except that prune was replaced with hawflakes. After first lesson learnt from prune layer cake, this time, with more cares and precaution steps, I am happy to say that it was a very successful and delicious one. This round, every single layer is baked until even darker brown, about 6~7 minutes per layer. I baked at upper level of oven. Hawflakes were arranged at 3rd and 6th layers. Melted butter was brushed for every two layers. I managed to bake a total of 8 layers at 8" square cake tin, every layers were measured evenly with one cup of mixture.

Coffee, has taken away my heart. Sometime it make me happy, sometime it make me high, but sometime it make my heart pumping at wrong frequency. I wish I can drink it everyday, with a set of toast spread with kaya, together with 2 half boil eggs without pepper and soy sauce, so I can have the pure egg taste, to welcome my day!

DevilChocNowadays, there are many types of premix cake flour sell at super market, Pillsbury is one of them. Some of them are not expensive but I do not like them as some give you dry texture, some are with weird fragrance.

I have heard Pillsbury during my secondary school, but this is the first time I bought it. People comment that this brand is good. After more than 10 years, I decided to give it a try. As usual, the price are slightly expensive compare with our local brand premix.

I bought this Moist Supreme Cake Mix and keep for few weeks before my baking mood is back. Recently, I am too lazy to do baking, house keeping, reading, everything...even cutting cake into slices also lazy. Hence I decided to bake them in paper cups.

With simple steps, you can easily make more than 20 cup cakes. I add cranberry on top before bake in oven. The cakes can be ready in 15 minutes.

Here my devil moist supreme cup cakes, it is delicious and most importantly, it is not too sweet. Chocolate flavour is quite strong and it is really moist. My family just love them and ask me to bake during Chinese New Year.
