Fresh Fruit Cheese Cake

For about 1 year, I have no chance to bake a fresh cream cake. Now, I am back to my little kitchen to bake something. Yeh! First fresh cream cake I baked this year for my lovely niece four years old birthday celebration, and I baked a fruit cheese cake for her.

Japan Instant Cup Rice

It is not healthy to eat instant noodle, I know. It does not contain nutrision and not good for digestion too. I try to avoid eating it but once a while, I think no problem. One night, when I shop for my dinner at nearby convenient store, I can't find any bento available. At that time, I found instant cup noodle rice which was quite special. I bought one and bring back apartment for my dinner on that night. It is rather convenient and fast to cook. Just add water to the cup rice and cook it in microwave oven. You can consume it after 2 minutes. Inside the cup rice, it has dried egg, dried shrimp, shallot and dried meat. It also came with a pack of sauce oil for you to mix with the rice after cook. So, if you do not want to eat instant noodle, you can try instant rice. Next post, I would like to share about making your own cup noodle. You can choose what ingredients to put in your cup noodle and what soup base you like. Stay tune!

Cha Dango 京の茶だんご | Japan

Dango is a Japanese dumpling made from mochiko, rice flour. There are many varieties of dango in Japan and normally three to four dango are often served on a skewer. The texture of the dango is very similar to chinese glutinous flour ball (tang yuan), especially the plain dango, not only the texture, the taste is almost close to tang yuan. On this post, I would like to share on the Cha Dango from Kyoto, Japan 京の茶だんご. It is a green tea flavour dango where only sells in Kyoto area. I have never see this brand of dango in Tokyo.

DurianCheeseCake_2"Is this a durian cheesecake? A piece of durian cheesecake in Continental bakery cost RM7++." My brother ask me this question when I pass him a durian crepe cake that I made few weeks ago.

"Do you think durian can match with cheese cake? Not sure how will it tastes." A sentence made by Camus's mom when she ate the durian butter cake that I baked few weeks ago.

With the questions and statements out from them, I have a strong believed that I must bake a durian cheese cake. To satisfy my baking desire and answer them with actual result.

Due to last minutes decision of making this cake, I have no time to look into my own recipe book, hence I search the recipe from internet. I got it from Kitchen Corner, I have a confident that the recipe I get from this blogger will work well after read through her blog for quite sometimes. She is from Singapore and I found her blog during I surf for baking blog. Thanks Grace for the recipe.

3.Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4.Beat in milk and cornstarch until blended.

6.Remove from the heat and leave to cool completely. Chill in fridge for 5 hours or overnight.

I would say that the durian cheesecake tasted superb with creamy and smooth texture. I would strongly recommend this recipe to all of you.

But due to I do not blend the durian, it effected the texture. I would suggest to blend the durian first if you prefer a very smooth texture of cake.

.Quoting Clarence:
my texture turns out to be quite watery and soft instead of thick and solid, i think it could be due to the eggs that makes it very watery.

I notice that when i add in the eggs one by one, the batter turns very watery.

Hi Clarence, If you have added in more durian, the moisture of the cake also become higher. Even worse, if the durian is watery. Try to bake slightly longer to remove the extra moisture
