Japan Instant Cup Rice

It is not healthy to eat instant noodle, I know. It does not contain nutrision and not good for digestion too. I try to avoid eating it but once a while, I think no problem. One night, when I shop for my dinner at nearby convenient store, I can't find any bento available. At that time, I found instant cup noodle rice which was quite special. I bought one and bring back apartment for my dinner on that night. It is rather convenient and fast to cook. Just add water to the cup rice and cook it in microwave oven. You can consume it after 2 minutes. Inside the cup rice, it has dried egg, dried shrimp, shallot and dried meat. It also came with a pack of sauce oil for you to mix with the rice after cook. So, if you do not want to eat instant noodle, you can try instant rice. Next post, I would like to share about making your own cup noodle. Double Electric Breast Pump | Lacte Duet

I wish to share something about my electric breast pump that has been used for almost a year. I bought this breast pump when my baby was about 4 months old, after used Medela Swing for about 2-3 months. Medela Swing is single pump, which took me about 1 hour to clear both sides, Imagine if you need 2 to 3 sessions per day during working hour, how much time you left to do your work? And it was second hand pump get from my sis in law, I am not sure it was due to old pump or what, the Medela Swing can't really empty my breast. Till one day when I was frustrated, I decided to invest on new pump. With some survey, I decided to get in this Lacte Duet Double Electric Breast Pump. It was RM399 the time I bought, I told myself if I able to feed baby with my breast milk until she is one year old, I will only need around RM50 per month (start count from 5 months old), and all of us knew breast milk is much safer and healthier compare to formula. This pump comes with double motor where user can adjust both sides with different power level. With this feature, in case of one motor break down , you can still use another side. It is also more quiet compare with M.Swing and some other top brand model. Another thing that I like about this pump is you can use it with power bank, it is especially helpful where you can pump at anywhere even though without power supply. It is convenient as you do not need to wash extra bottle after pump, just pump inside your storage bottles. The only thing that I am not happy with this pump is it contains many parts and you will need more time in washing the parts. I have this in my mind: "I will get in Freemie to use with this pump for my next baby", as I feel Freemie is easier to wash, and yes, this pump can use with Freemie. Besides this I would say it is a good pump. To make my pumping more comfortable, I use it with handsfree bra, it is much more convenient and can reduce shoulder pain as you no need to bend your head down by always looking at your bottles. With handsfree bra, you can work while pumping as your hands will be free at the time you pump. My day will be full of joy and satisfaction when I get this amount in one pumping session! Happy Chinese New Year & Happy Valentines Day

Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Valentine Day! This year of Chinese New Year falls on 14th February which is also a Valentine Day. Shuang Xi Ling Men ah! (Dual Happiness) Yesterday was Chinese New Year eve, it was a day where our whole family gathered together for dinner, chit-chatting, and spending time together.

 

Heng Thai Seafood Restaurant (Thai-Chinese food) | Raja Uda

We found one Chinese-Thai food restaurant few weeks ago at Raja Uda, it was not our first intention to dine there. We were hungry and looking for something good and special for our dinner, we went to Kampung Baru for our first stop, looking for Japanese food, but there was an event held at Kampung Baru causing heavy traffic jam. We changed our dinner place to Salad Bowl at Chain Ferry, bad luck, it was closed on that day. We drove towards Raja Uda direction, Sawara steamboat get our attention and we sat in to read the menu. After 5 minutes, we walked out from Sawara due to super expensive of the meal. Finally, we went in this not so attractive but crowded restaurant. It was already 9pm and after make order, still have to wait for another 25-30minutes. I can say that it was worth waiting as the dishes that we ordered taste delicious and very similar to Thai local taste. That time was only Camus and myself, two persons cannot order much. One big fish, two big prawns and a plate of mix vegetable make us very full and satisfied. This assam Africa fish taste superb, hot, spicy and sour, just like assam soup. It came with some chinese cabbage too, very appetizing. This assam big fish cost about RM28, to me it is very worth as you will get big fish with delicious soup and vegetable in it. When make order, the waiter asked is 4 big prawns enough for us? We said yes, but after that, he reduce our order to 2 big prawns. I was thinking, har? 2 prawn nia where got enough? But for first time, I thought it would be good to try 2 first, in case not delicious. When they served, I was shocked as big head prawn really big in size, luckily we did not order 4, and this 2 big head prawn cost us RM40. Gosh! If I order 4, I have to pay for RM80!! This plate of big head prawns was super delicious, sprinkle with chopped garlic and bird chili on top. They steamed with a kind of sauce, slightly sour, very special and delicious, if you ask me how the big prawn taste, I can say it tasted like lobster and crab. How good if I have the recipe? Mix vegetable, RM8 taste good too. They cooked with 4 types of vegetables. To us, this is one of the best Thai food restaurant (another one is Mae Salong in Sungai Petani). Two main types of cheesecake are available in the market nowadays; they are frozen (chilled) cheesecake and baked cheesecake. Depending on individual, some like frozen cheesecake but some may prefer baked cheesecake. The main difference between these two types of cheesecake is the baking method, frozen cheesecake is store in fridge directly after all the mixing process while baked cheesecake need to bake before you can eat. Of course, they might have some other dissimilarity such as texture, ingredients used, and others.

Cheesecake lovers will always hunt for delicious cheesecake. People like me will normally shop to get a piece of cream cheese from super market and make my own cheesecake. Firstly, it is cheaper to make our own cheesecake as cheesecakes sell in café are expensive although they are delicious. Also, if you understand "To secure a man's heart is through his stomach", then you should just make your own cheesecake for them. Your answer to me might be "I don't know how to bake!" and my answer here, "Follow my recipe here, it is simple and easy, the percentage to failure is almost equal to zero"!

Here comes my recipe,

Ingredients:

Base:

200g      digestive biscuits or any other types of biscuit (crushed)

30g        sugar

125g      butter (melted)

Filling:

500g      cream cheese (at room temperature)

80g        caster sugar

½ tsp    vanilla essence

30g       corn flour

300ml   whipping cream

4           eggs  (lightly beaten)

150g    blueberry filling

Topping:

10g      caster sugar

100ml   water

½ tbsp gelatine

100g    blueberry filling

Method:

Base:

1. Combine biscuits and sugar, add in melted butter and mix until combined.

2. Press firmly into base of a cake tin.

3. Refrigerate until firm.

Preheat oven at 150ºC.

Filling:

1. Beat cream cheese until smooth.

2. Add in sugar and beat until creamy.

3. Add vanilla essence and cornflour, mix well.

4. Add in cream and beat until thickened.

5. Lastly, add in eggs and mix until just combined.

Pour some cheese filling on the base and add in blueberry filling, pour the remaining cheese filling.

Place cake tin in hot water bath and bake for 50 minutes or until filling is set. Turn off oven and leave the cake in oven for another 30minutes with oven door close.

Topping:

1. Combine sugar, water and gelatine and stir well.

2. Heat over low heat.

3. Add in blueberry filling.

Remove cake and spread topping. Refrigerate until set.

This is a soft and smooth cheesecake, I can actually feel the cheesecake melting in my mouth and the taste is really fantastic. Other than blueberry, you can always change the filling according to your taste, such as strawberry, peach, orange, passion fruit and etc.
