Pick-Your-Own Blueberry Farm | Kodaira, Japan

In my mind, blueberry is sour. I don't really like sour fruits and I prefer sweet and nature taste. But out of my expectation, the blueberries are so sweet, juicy and tasty. I really have a shock and wonder, "why are blueberries sweet?" Haha...

Pumpkin Soup Recipe with Soy Milk Maker

With this simple steps, you will get a hot and fresh soup from the soy milk maker. You can add those ingredients that you like and quantity is according to your own taste. Do not add too much ingredient at once into the soy milk maker to prevent leakage.

The Ridge - Teja By The Sea | Batu Kawan

The Ridge - Teja By The Sea located at Batu Kawan, is a very nice place to enjoy food. We had our dinner there on last weekend with family. By the time we arrived there was already 7.30pm, too bad we missed the sunset view. We ordered tomyam ayam with 2 bowl of rice, 2 lamb chops, 1 fish and chip and 1 roasted chicken. For drink, we have one big jar of fresh orange juice. Mee udang is recommended by waitress but it was closed after 7pm. One big claypot of tomyam ayam, RM12. I like the sourness and little sweetness of the tomyam taste, not too spicy. I found the serving is quite proffesional, take note of how they served the white rice. This claypot tomyam is enough for 4-5 person according to waitress.

Coffee Smith 咖啡史密斯 | Maritime Piazza, Karpal Singh Drive, Georgetown, Penang.

When there are more and more cafe open in Penang, I wish I could visit them one by one to enjoy a cup of coffee but I only managed to go one of them recently. It is Coffee Smith that located at Maritime Piazza, Karpal Singh Drive. We went there during Friday lunch, it was very crowded and we had to wait for a while to get our seat. The waiter gave us few copies of menu which I tought it was an advertisement booklet. I found it is quite special to printed menu in this way. After grance through the menu, I found that their foods are quite pricey. In fact most of the cafes are selling foods at higher price range nowadays. I ordered brunch set "Benny Duck Egg and English Muffin", it came with two duck eggs and ham on bread, two pieces of mini hamburger steak (very mini), fries and salad. This set includes one small cup of fruit juice and black coffee, RM24. The way they serve on "wooden plate" is special but I wonder how they clean the plate? Will it remained very clean after use for many times, will the stain leave behind the wooden material? They serve spaghetti too, Spring Vegetable Spaghetti at RM16. Hokkaido Scallops Cream Noodle at RM22. Portion was not big but taste creamy and delicious, you can find two scallops in the plate. Grilled Sandwich, Sicilion Chicken, RM14. I like the grill toast pattern. Caramel Macchiato, RM11. Nice latte art... LittleCottage_2First of all, I would like to apologize to MnY blog's owner (Camus and myself) for publishing a poor quality photos. As mentioned in "About Us", the purpose of creating MnYfoodtalk.com is to share anything that is related to food. We will not only share "good" food but also "bad" food. Either "bad in taste", "bad in service", "bad in price" or anything else.

Today, we are going to share our year 2010 Christmas dinner celebration experience here.

On 25th December 2010, we celebrated Christmas dinner at romantic and good environment restaurant, Little Cottage. At first, we were regretted for not bringing along our DSLR to capture the romance moment there. But, there are few factors that make our mind decided that, "we must share about this even without DSLR, since we have our phone cameraCool".

So, what are the points that trigger our mind to share this out? By reading on the introduction, you may guess something "bad" had happened. Please continue read on to understand the situation.

  1. Punctuality
  • The restaurant supposed to open at 6pm, but when we arrived at 6pm sharp, they are not ready to serve us yet. Well, we don't mind to wait for another 10-15minutes as long as don't let us wait for too long.
  • We entered the restaurant at 6.30pm. At that time, waitresses were still busy walking here and there preparing things. The walking and chit chatting sound among them break the silent night.
  1. Service
  • Service is poor.
  • Water is served only upon request.
  • Waitress took back your plate without asking our permission, even before the food is finish.
  1. Food
  • Foods are just nice.
  • LittleCottage
  • Food presentation for dessert was poor. The dessert's cups are different in size and cups are not well clean before serving.
  • LittleCottage_3
  • LittleCottage_4
  1. Price
  • Prices are not acceptable compare with their food presentation, quality and services.

However, the environment is good. Restaurant's decoration was attractive and able to bring out romance and quite environment IF WITHOUT the waitresses making noise thereYell. But we did observe that not all the waitresses served badly, we do hope that they will improve their quality in the future.
