Indonesia Layer Cake with Prune Recipe

You will never understand my feeling, the feeling of excitement and satisfactory once I had successfully baked this cake. Indonesia layer cake is my favorite cake since I was young, same to my family. We used to order this cake from my father's friend, who married a Medan wife and make a very nice layer cake. Year after year, the price getting more and more expensive but we still buy from them especially during Chinese New Year. I made this few years ago and ended up with throw everything into dustbin due to the super "compress" and oily layer. Waste lot of eggs, ingredients, $$ and many hours of baking time. If you never hear of this cake, let me briefly explain about it. It is an Indonesia cake, also called kuih lapis legit,

Pick-Your-Own Blueberry Farm | Kodaira, Japan

In my mind, blueberry is sour. I don't really like sour fruits and I prefer sweet and nature taste. But out of my expectation, the blueberries are so sweet, juicy and tasty. I really have a shock and wonder, "why are blueberries sweet?" Haha...

Matcha (Green Tea) Chiffon Cake Recipe

If you have read our post on "How Chiffon Cake Works? The More You Want to Know About Chiffon Cake", I am sure you have very clear idea on this cake. How it works, what causing the cake rise, to what extend should your egg whites form, how to prepare the pan, oven setting so more. Among all my chiffon cakes (exclude those failed one), I would like to share on Matcha (green tea) chiffon cake recipe first. It was my first (so-called) successful chiffon cake after my hard pray to God. It was my big motivation after failure that caused big dissapoinment on last black sesame chiffon cake. It gave me courage to bake more chiffon cakes after "pass this difficult test".

Pillsbury Moist Supreme Cake Mix

I bought this Moist Supreme Cake Mix and keep for few weeks before my baking mood is back. Recently, I am too lazy to do baking, house keeping, reading, everything...even cutting cake into slices also lazy. Hence I decided to bake them in paper cups.

BelgiumWaffle_3I love to eat waffle especially when the waffle just comes out hot from waffle maker and waffle with peanut butter is always my first choice. I have even tried to make my own waffle with my sister in law's waffle maker which bought from Cosway. My homemade waffle didn't turn out as good as those sell outside. To me, good waffle should be crunchy outside and soft inside. Of course the taste should be delicious too.

Recently, I get to know about Belgium Waffle after my first try in Osaka Railway Station, Japan. The strong fragrance from the waffle store caught our attention. We bought a piece of plain waffle which costs 126 yen (about RM4.50). The Belgium waffle was very crunchy and tasted heavenly!Cool

I found that the Belgium waffle dough is different compare with normal waffle dough. Look at the dough from the photo below. They are not the same as usual liquid waffle dough.

I managed to get another piece of Belgium waffle from Tokyo for the same price. This is the outlook of the packing. Somehow, they are not as good as the fresh one.Frown

They have other flavors too, such as chocolate, mapple, rum raisin, almond, strawberry chocolate, white chocolate and etc. but I have never try them yet.

I will try to search for Belgium waffle recipe and try to make my own at home.

I was in Japan and loved these waffles. I can't find a way to order these from the company. Is there anyone willing to buy and ship these to me if I sent you the money?
