6 Days 5 Nights Relax at Chiang Mai (Day 6) | 废人废生活的清迈6天5夜行 (第六天)

Day6 Today is our last day in Chiang Mai, I hope it was our first day here. Our last destination was to Warorot Market. You can find all kind of stuff from this market, fresh flower, clothes, shoes, fabric, kitchen utensil, tower, food and many more. It is a local market where their local people will come here to buy their things. Warorot market location map Warorot market We had our last shopping here before return back to hotel for final packing. We had the chance to taste their famous mango glutinous rice before we came back. It was really delicious. They also have durian glutinous rice which is very special and hard to get it from other place. Mango glutinous rice, beef noodle and coconut drink location map Mango glutinous rice Durian glutinous rice Mango glutinous rice in front of this hotel We went to get a cup of coconut drink just opposite mango glutinous rice stall. The coconut drink is only 10Baht per big cup, delicious. Coconut drink Then we go to another shop sells beef noodle which located the same row as mango glutinous rice. Beef noodle After meal, we took Song Theaw to airport at 50Baht per person and end our journey at Chiang Mai.

Ki no me (kinome) Japanese Restaurant | The One, Penang

Ki no me, a Japanese Restaurant located at The One, Bayan Lepas. Before went there, comments from others about this restaurant are positive. Good food with good price, but need to wait for nearly one hour before the food was serve. When I blog for this restaurant, I google for Ki no me, and I found this: 木の芽, the young leaves of the sansho tree (Japanese pepper). I think the restaurant named after this leaf as I observed the wall is decorated with many greeny leaves. I believed they are ki no me. Today, we decided to give it a try, we were lucky as we get a parking space right in front of the restaurant and not crowded at the time we arrived there.

Half Day Trip to Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera), Penang

This is the first time we went to Penang Hill after visited there since years ago. In my mind, Bukit Bendera is a cool place, where you can go away from super hot Penang island. Also, being prepared that there is "nothing" at the top hill. With this mindset, I prepared a jacket, pizza and some light foods for the trip. We went in early morning on last Sunday morning, arrived there at about 8.15am. After park our car at their carpark (RM3 per entry), we went to buy ticket. Ticket charge for adult is RM8 per person, if you show your Malaysia identity card to them (child is RM4). By the time we buy the ticket, there is no body in the queue, so we thought the visitor must be very few.

Soba is a kind of brown noodles made from buckwheat flour. Cold egg soba is noodles in cold sauce with wasabi, scallions and raw egg. I have never wanted to try the cold soba here as the egg serves in the cold soba is totally raw. I am afraid of the egg smell if it is eaten raw and dare not challenge myself to eat raw egg except if the raw egg is use to make tiramisu. Somehow, on past few weeks, we stepped into an old soba and udon shop. Since Camus wanted to try something special in Japan, Japan local food, hence we ordered cold egg soba. Unsure about how to order cold egg soba in Japanese, after talking and describing what we wanted to the Taukeh Soh, finally we got what we want.

IMG_20130722_214459It is not healthy to eat instant noodle, I know. It does not contain nutrision and not good for digestion too. I try to avoid eating it but once a while, I think no problem. One night, when I shop for my dinner at nearby convenient store, I can't find any bento available. At that time, I found instant cup noodle rice which was quite special. I bought one and bring back apartment for my dinner on that night.

It is rather convenient and fast to cook. Just add water to the cup rice and cook it in microwave oven. You can consume it after 2 minutes. Inside the cup rice, it has dried egg, dried shrimp, shallot and dried meat. It also came with a pack of sauce oil for you to mix with the rice after cook. So, if you do not want to eat instant noodle, you can try instant rice.
