USSR Restaurant | Harbour Park , Langkawi

We just had a short trip to Langkawi recently. It is an unforgetable trip with some good and bad experience. Thank God that it was a raining day on the first day when we just arrived. The weather was great and cooling, we really enjoyed it. We stay at Berjaya hotel, it is a very relaxing resort that can temperary keep us away from our busy life in town. On the first night, with "suggestion" from "GPS", we got to know this Russian restaurant at Harbour Park nearby our hotel, it is USSR restaurant.

 

Butter Cake Recipe (Egg Separation Method)

Butter cake is one of my family favourite cake, I used to bake it years ago with "Buttercup" or "Farmcow" butter. This few years, I found it hard to bake nice butter cake with this types of butter. I am not sure what's wrong with it, it was either my baking skill get worse? or the weather that makes the buttle melt easily? or the butter itself? I bought a 500g better quality butter to keep in fridge and plan to bake for butter cake. This time I get "SCS" butter. When I read through some bloggers' blog, I found one recipe that is famous among many bloggers, and this method using egg separation method. I decided to give it a try. With no regret, I am very happy with the result, I like this type of cake which gives a very fluffy texture and rich in buttery flavour. Thanks to wendyinkk for sharing Mrs NgSK's recipe. I really love it so much!!! Ingredients:230g salted butter, softened150g caster sugar4 egg yolks (grade B egg)200g self raising flour, sifted (I used 200g cake flour+3.5tsp baking powder)60ml fresh milk 4 egg whites (grade B egg)50g caster sugar Method:1. Preheat oven to 170°C. Line bottom and sides of 8 inch cake pan with parchment paper. 2. Cream butter and sugar till pale and fluffy, scrape side and bottom of mixing bowl as necessary. Add egg yolk 1 at a time. Beat well after each addition. 3. Put half the sifted flour and mix on low speed until combined. Add milk in two additions and mix until well combined. Add in balance of flour. 4. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk egg whites till soft peak. Gradually add in 50 g sugar, beat until egg whites form stiff peaks. 5. Put half the egg whites in butter mixture and mix on low speed, pour in balance of egg whites and fold with spatula. 6. Pour batter into baking pan and level.7. Bang baking pan on table top to remove big air bubbles.8. Bake at pre-heated oven for 45 minutes or until skewer inserted and come out clean. My cake has little crack on top when bake in oven for about 40 minutes, I don't really care about this as most importantly it was very delicious, look at the photo to see the cake's texture, lovely! Coco’s (ココス)| Japan

Today after work, I went to take dinner with my colleagues. We went to a restaurant nearby company to have the dinner, it is called Coco’s (ココス). After about 20 minutes walk from company, we reached the restaurant and start our dinner.    

 

Durian Chiffon Cake Recipe

It's durian season again, I will jump into durian chiffon cake recipe first before I continue to post for other chiffon cakes recipe. I used my recipe keeper (with step by step procedure) and modify to make this durian chiffon cake.

久违了,回来已经一个多星期了,才来得及写第三天的行程.一回来没心之余,工作又开始忙,写行程的速度必然慢了.废话不多说,进入话题吧!

今天是第三天了,出门旅游时间总是过得特别快。今天的早餐也是香港点心,希望可以来得丰富一些。比起昨天,今天的比较不错,但小点心种类不多。看看照片就可以数出有多少种了。要是把粥和面条换去点心,那有多好呢?

吃完早餐,我们和香港告别,前往中港城码头乘船到澳门去。我们过了关卡,乘搭九点的金光飞航大船,抵达澳门氹仔客运码头。船程大约一个小时多。到了澳门,还要排长龙,进入澳门关卡。

抵达澳门后,第一站来到了威尼斯赌场。这是澳门最大的赌场,由于我们都没赌,所以走走看看后,每人骗了一罐迷你型饮用水后就离开。这里顶楼设有大运河购物区,人造蓝天空里布满白云,再加上灯光设计,让人分不出室内室外,昼夜晨昏,也给人豪华浪漫的感觉。这里的商店大多都卖名牌东西的,也有卖饮食的。

肚子又饿了,今天的午餐是在澳门享用的。比起香港,我们还是比较喜欢澳门的食物。狼吞虎咽,又一餐啦!

大三巴牌坊,其正式名称为圣保祿大教堂遗址(葡萄牙文: Ruínas da Antiga Catedral de São Paulo),一般稱為大三巴或牌坊,是澳門天主之母教堂(聖保祿教堂)正面前壁的遺址。大三巴牌坊是澳門的標誌性建築物之一,同時也為「澳門八景」之一。2005年與澳門歷史城區的其他文物成為聯合國世界文化遺產。 (文摘于wikipedia)

说起大三巴,给人的印象就是来到了大山芭,福建话中有句话,是骂人"山芭猴",是说那人来自乡下的,什么都不懂的意思。这里呢,三巴还不够,还要加个"大",大三巴。实在是。。。好笑叻!我们到达时的天空是蓝蓝的,一片云也不见,拍起照来特别美叻!

很快的又抵达珠海了。渔女像可说是珠海的唯一到达的景点。这边也不过是看看渔女像,一座像人鱼的石灰座。我们到达的时间已入黄昏,天色已暗,拍出来的照片简直就是"一瞥野"。随便拍拍几张照片就离开了。

今晚我们住入西藏大厦,这是那么多间酒店中最豪华的一间了,可惜只能住上一晚。
